Eagle Scouts awarded scholarships
Two Eagle Scouts were recently presented with Del Rio Host Lions scholarships to help the local students offset the costs of their college education.
On April 30, Eagle Scouts from Boy Scouts Troop 255 Aaron Cash and Marcus Castillo were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship by Del Rio Host Lions Club Second Vice President and Scholarships Committee Chair Diane Carrillo, and by club Secretary Amado “Manny” Carrillo.
The ceremony was held at the Lions Hut, on Fox Drive, while the actual scholarships will be presented to the students at the end of the school year, once they graduate.
